Our Mission

The Good Samaritan CDC serves as a catalyst agency to lead and facilitate new growth within the State of South Carolina. Our main focus areas include Safe & Affordable Housing Development, Community Investment, and Newly Released & Reentry Initiatives.

Who We Serve

The GSCDC serves Richland County, Lexington County, Florence County, Spartanburg County, Charleston County and the 28 census tracts of the Columbia, SC  Empowerment Zone located in Richland County.  This area was federally designated in 1999 and is characterized by high unemployment, a high percentage of female-headed households, very low household wealth and per capita income, and low rates of minority business ownership.

Who We Serve

Our Work

In the past year, the GSCDC has raised nearly $100,000 dollars in Private and Federal Funds and leveraged over $50,000 in resources to orchestrate its community and economic development efforts.

The GSCDC has become a recognized agency for its successful endeavors as a community development corporation and for the sustainable partnership created w with local government and federal entities.
